Summary: Plans, organizes, develops and directs the overall operation of the ALF Activity Department in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, as well as Cypress Cove’s established policies and procedures. As may be directed by the Director, to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well being of each resident.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Implements activity programs for the residents, and at most times will have the sole responsibility for conducting an activity.
  • Plans, develops, organizes and evaluate the activity program of the Assisted Living Facility.
  • Produces monthly calendar and weekly update sheets.
  • Obtains supplies necessary for activities.
  • Organizes special events. Assists in areas of resident, staff and family relations.
  • Assists in publicizing programs for residents and staff well in advance.
  • Assists in engaging speakers, performers, etc., contacting libraries, garden clubs, art and music groups, civic groups, etc.
  • Visits with residents and their families to gather news items for the Community Newsletter.
  • Helps recruit, orient and coordinate volunteers.
  • Plans and attends occasional weekend activities.
